Carlito Springs Open Space, located in the East Mountains near Tijeras was acquired by Bernalillo County with Open Space Mill Levy funds in 2000. The property boasts a natural spring, several ponds, hiking trails, a main house and four cabins that date to the late 1800s. Like the Gutierrez-Hubbell House, Carlito Springs is on the National Register of Historic Places.
