Outdoor Painting Workshop
Saturday, Sept. 9, 10am-12pm
Connie Folk from the Plein Air Land-Scapers (PALs) group will lead a fun and relaxing beginner demonstration to outdoor painting. Workshop will take place by the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House.
No experience necessary, children and adults of all ages welcome! We will have watercolors, paintbrushes and watercolor paper available.
The event is free but please RSVP to dottaviano@bernco.gov to ensure we have enough supplies.

Ciudad Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a Caretaker for Bernalillo County’s Carlito Springs Open Space.
This contractual position is unique opportunity and would be a good fit for an individual who:
● Is looking for a comfortable living space.
● Is interested in contributing their skills to maintain and manage the property.
● Is employed part‐time.
● Enjoys the outdoors.
● Enjoys meeting and communicating with new individuals.

Profile: Bernco’s Open Space Resource Specialists
Kateri Sava is an Open Space Resource Specialists whose main focus on our team is Agricultural education and programming and agricultural land stewardship through programs including Grow-the-Growers, Backyard Farming Saturday Workshop Series, and a Youth AgCorps (YCC). Her ability to coordinate and facilitate these programs as well as planning and leading large and small service-learning events has greatly added to Open Space’s capacity to serve the public. Previously, she served as a school garden coordinator supporting a network of over 90 school gardens in Albuquerque Public Schools. Kateri joined the team in January.
Zach Darden is an Open Space Resource Specialists and newest member of our team. His main areas of focus are Outdoor education and programming, land stewardship and conservation through such programs as Master Naturalist, Tree Stewards, and working with conservation corps. He has previously worked with Rocky Mountain Youth Corps, Cottonwood Gulch, and the City of Albuquerque Open Space Division and more recently at Mission Achievement Success Charter School. He has also apprenticed with the US Forest Service in digitizing road maps and 3D modeling in ARCPRO.
