The Clerk’s Annex, located at 1500 Lomas NW, will be open for in-person absentee voting and same-day registration Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Oct. 11 through Oct. 21, 2022. Additional locations will be available for early voting and the continuation of same-day registration from Oct. 22 through Nov. 5, 2022.
Starting Oct. 11, the Clerk’s Office will begin mailing absentee ballots to those who have requested them. If residents haven’t requested an absentee ballot and would like to request one, there are three ways to do it:
- You can fill out an application on Berncoclerk.gov and submit it online.
- You can download the application, fill it out and mail it to the Clerk’s Office.
- You can call 505-243-VOTE (8683) to request an application.
The last day to request an absentee ballot for the New Mexico General Election is Nov. 3, 2022.

General Obligation Bonds on Your Ballot
Question #2
Bernalillo County's General Obligation Bond Question #2 will provide $13 million for the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office, Bernalillo County Fire Department, the Metropolitan Detention Center, Youth Services Center and PB&J Family Services.
Question #3
Bernalillo County's General Obligation Bond Question #4 will provide $10 million for county wide road improvements, bike lanes and trails, sidewalks, Americans with Disabilities Act projects and local matching funds to unlock federal dollars to complete projects.

Tax bill mailing Nov. 1
Bernalillo County Assessor Tanya Giddings has sent the 2022 property tax roll to Bernalillo County Treasurer Nancy Bearce and the Bernalillo County Treasurer’s Office announces this year’s bill is on schedule for mailing Nov. 1. Property tax bills are also available online beginning Nov. 1 at www.bernco.gov/treasurer.
Property owners experiencing financial difficulties are encouraged to visit the New Mexico Home Fund at www.nmhomefund.org or call 505-308-4206 or 866-488-0498. Additionally, to make short term payment arrangements, contact the Treasurer’s Office at 505-468-7031 or email the Treasurer’s Office at treasurers@bernco.gov.

Get ready to walk, jog, strut and stroll your way along the picturesque Bosque during Bernalillo County’s eighth annual Sugar Skull Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW. This year participants can select from a timed 5K for runners, a 5k fun walk/run or a one-mile strut and stroll for strollers and pets.
Registration fee is $45 from Sept. 1 to Oct. 20. Late registration will cost $55 and be available Oct. 21-22. Registration will not be possible on the day of the event. The registration fee includes the coveted SSFR T-shirt which this year was designed by local artist Spencer Onorato. Children 7-years-old and younger can participate for free and no registration is required. A limited number of kid sized SSFR T-shirts will be available for purchase in person on a first come, first served basis. |

- 8:15 a.m. 5K Fun Run
- 8:30 a.m. One-mile Strut and Stroll (pets welcome)
Día de los Muertos themed attire is encouraged but not required.
- Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and
- Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Sports Systems, 6915 Montgomery Blvd NE.
Packets not picked up on these days will be available on race day at the event information desk.
