Assessor, Tanya R. Giddings, submits the property abstract report to the New Mexico Property Tax Division (PTD), and delivers the tax schedule, for all real and personal property subject to property taxation to the county treasurer for year 2022. The abstract also includes property within the county valued by the state otherwise known as centrally assessed. The tax schedule will allow the county treasurer to prepare and mail out the property tax bills In November of 2022. These assessed values are based upon market conditions as of Jan. 1, 2022. |

On Oct. 13, Bernalillo County and the City of Albuquerque will host a fentanyl summit to immerse the community in an education process to combat this life-ending and family-shattering drug.
 This free summit aims to provide awareness of the cause, supply, consequences of use, and community resources to combat fentanyl's impact on the community. Assistance information will be available to individuals or families affected by fentanyl, and the summit will feature more than 40 experts in their respective fields.
Doors open at 9 a.m. and panel discussions begin at 10 a.m. Streaming is also available at: www.keepNMalive.com
The summit is free to the public and will also be available online for those who can’t attend. Free parking will also be provided for summit attendees.

Get ready to walk, jog, strut and stroll your way along the picturesque Bosque during Bernalillo County’s eighth annual Sugar Skull Fun Run on Sunday, Oct. 23 at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, 1701 Fourth Street SW. This year participants can select from a timed 5K for runners, a 5k fun walk/run or a one-mile strut and stroll for strollers and pets.
 Registration fee is $45 from Sept. 1 to Oct. 20. Late registration will cost $55 and be available Oct. 21-22. Registration will not be possible on the day of the event. The registration fee includes the coveted SSFR T-shirt which this year was designed by local artist Spencer Onorato. Children 7-years-old and younger can participate for free and no registration is required. A limited number of kid sized SSFR T-shirts will be available for purchase in person on a first come, first served basis.

- 8 a.m. 5K Timed (new this year)
- 8:15 a.m. 5K Fun Run
- 8:30 a.m. One-mile Strut and Stroll (pets welcome)
Día de los Muertos themed attire is encouraged but not required.
- Friday, Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. and
- Saturday, Oct. 22 from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Sports Systems, 6915 Montgomery Blvd NE.
Packets not picked up on these days will be available on race day at the event information desk.

Ofrendas Comunitarias: Muertos y Marigolds
Ofrendas Comunitarias: Muertos y Marigolds opens Friday, Oct. 7 at 5 p.m. at the Gutiérrez-Hubbell House Alliance History & Cultural Center.
The exhibit will bring over a dozen artists, community members, local organizations, and schools to remember our dead and share in mourning and celebration of our community and loved ones through the creation of altars, a central part of the celebration of Day of the Dead.
The exhibit features altars honoring different people and causes important to South Valley residents and organized around the Muertos y Marigolds 2022 theme of “¡Escucha! ¡La Lucha No Es Mañana!” “What is Your Fight??”
The exhibit runs Friday, Oct. 7 – Saturday, Nov. 12, 2022 and will be available during museum open hours Thursday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. This exhibit was conceived with and co-curated with the Muertos y Marigolds South Valley Dia de los Muertos Celebration committee.

Free Upcoming Event: Green Waste Collection
Bernalillo County will hold a Green Waste collection event from Oct. 22 - Oct. 31 at the East Mountain Transfer Station at 711 Highway 333 (along old Route 66).
The collection is open to residential customers of Bernalillo County from 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily while the event runs.
Commercial loads do not qualify for this free event.
