Join us at the fully reopened museum!

Welcome back to our grounds and museum We're excited to welcome you back to drop-in visits to the museum, tours with our volunteer guides, community work days, and much more! The Gutiérrez Hubbell House History & Cultural Center is now open Thursday - Saturday, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. with drop-in self-guided visits during open hours.

In the last few months we have worked with generous funders and partners to improve the grounds. We added a rainwater harvesting basin, pollinator-friendly gardens, and opened a new exhibit. We'll continue to add programs and additional volunteer and learning opportunities throughout the summer, so stay tuned for updates at bernco.gov/GHH. Guided tours are still available by appointment for individuals and small groups, as well as new opportunities for large groups.

5th Annual Art Along the Rio Grande Art Fair

Art Along the Rio Grande is back! Our annual art fair showcasing the cultural heritage and ecological significance of the Rio Grande Valley will take place next Saturday, July 10, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Enjoy local artists, food trucks, music, and tours of the grounds and museum. Artists are still being accepted through July 6. Learn more at the Friends of Valle de Oro event webpage.

Do you want to help out in the GHH gardens?

After over a year with few volunteers on-site, we're looking to spruce up our grounds and gardens. Join us for drop-in outdoor community work days the first Wednesday of the month, July-October, 6-8 p.m. We'll be planting, weeding, and making other upgrades to our gardens and grounds. No experience is necessary and we provide equipment. Avid gardeners are encouraged to bring their favorite tools. The first work day is Wednesday, July 7. Explore New Mexican Culinary History with Us!

Join us May 21 - September 18 for a taste of local history through an outdoor exhibit along the agricultural fields on the grounds of Gutiérrez Hubbell House. 

Enchiladas: A global journey to New Mexico  invites visitors to explore the varied origins and paths to New Mexico of key elements in our local foods. We’ll examine Pueblo agricultural trade and innovation, the impact of Spanish colonization on local crops and foods, and the influence of changing technology on what ingredients are available to New Mexicans. The exhibit tells the story of how generations of farmers and cooks adopted, adapted, and embraced foods from around the globe to create the unique and recognizable flavors that New Mexicans treasure as our local culinary traditions.

Public Meeting for El Camino Real National Historic Trail

Join us and our partners Tuesday, July 27, 6-7:30 p.m. for a public meeting so the community can share their ideas and stories about El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro. The outdoor drop-in open house will provide opportunies to speak with planners and staff about this exciting project to expand interpretation of the trail throughout Bernalillo County.
