Willingboro Township Mayor Kaya T. McIntosh Issues Statement on the Recent Discussions Regarding the Willingboro Public Library
Willingboro, N.J. -- As many of you know, the Township Council has been actively exploring innovative ideas to ensure that Willingboro delivers the best possible resident experience when it comes to our public library. It is important that residents are informed and have the most complete and accurate information in this regard.
While a decision has not been made, the Township Council has been deliberating the following options concerning the Willingboro Public Library:
-
Relocating the Library: We are considering relocating the library from the Willingboro Town Center to the John F. Kennedy Center. This potential move would provide residents with better access to the library and an enhanced resource space that is enjoyable for all.
-
Transitioning to the Burlington County Library System: We are also exploring the option of transitioning management and library services to the Burlington County Library System. Leveraging countywide resources would potentially allow us to expand and enhance the services available to Willingboro residents.
Despite these considerations, the Willingboro Public Library is not closing. Our goal is to improve and expand services, not eliminate them.
As the Township Council continues to weigh these options, it is crucial to include the voices of our residents. We encourage residents to share their thoughts during our Township Council meetings. Our next meeting is Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 7 PM. Residents can join us in person or virtually by logging on via Zoom. Thank you for your attention and participation as we continue to work together for the betterment of our community.
Sincerely,
Willingboro Township Mayor Kaya T. McIntosh
