Shining a Light on Law Enforcement

OSC launches Police Accountability Project

This month, OSC launched our Police Accountability Project aimed at reviewing state and local law enforcement agencies and advancing transparency in policing. We’ll be looking at systems for detecting officer misconduct, examining whether recent reforms are working, and looking at whether police training programs are in compliance with new reforms.

Acting State Comptroller Kevin Walsh joined NJ Spotlight News to discuss the new initiative.

Report on COVID Support for NJ Fisheries

OSC is a watchdog for federal COVID funds spent in New Jersey. We examined a program intended to provide funds to marine fisheries impacted by the pandemic.

Our report found that nearly $2.4 million in CARES Act funding may have been improper and may have to be returned by the fisheries.

Brookdale Community College Audit

A report from OSC’s Audit team found that Brookdale spent $790K on unauthorized or improper purchases.
