William M. Gorman will be the Keynote Speaker at Archives & History Day this Saturday
Monmouth County Clerk Christine Giordano Hanlon is pleased to announce that William M. Gorman of Monmouth University’s Department of History will be the keynote speaker at the County Clerk’s 28th Annual Archives and History Day this Saturday, October 28 at Brookdale Community College.
Gorman’s address is titled “Economic Conditions in the United States and Their Effect on Business: Reflections at the Local Level."
“William Gorman’s presentation is especially relevant for this year’s Archives and History Day theme of Business and Industry in Monmouth County: The Evolution of Manufacturing and Retail,” said Clerk Hanlon. “We are thrilled that Mr. Gorman will be our event’s keynote speaker to discuss the economic background that many of our local businesses existed in.”
William M. Gorman has been a member of the Department of History at Monmouth University since 1987 and has taught several courses including Western Civilization, Critical Discourse, and his area of specialization and research, U.S. Economic History.
All are invited to this year's free Archives Day event which will feature a County history-related exhibit and catalog booklet, presentations, and over fifty representatives from local historical societies and museums. Be sure to bring the family to learn more about our local history!
