Hello, and welcome to the first issue of The Recorder, the official e-newsletter of the Monmouth County Clerk's Office.

Our goal is to provide the residents of Monmouth County with up-to-date information about our many services and initiatives. From critical election information to travel and passport updates, this newsletter will feature articles from all five divisions of the County Clerk's Office.

This newsletter will also keep you "in the know" with our Upcoming Events section, so that you will not miss out on our events and programs. We hope you find our publication helpful, as we continue to provide accessible and important services to the people of Monmouth County.

New and Improved Monmouth County
Clerk's Office Website Launched

New County Clerk website

Continuing our commitment to increasing technology at the County Clerk's Office, Clerk Hanlon created a new and improved Monmouth County Clerk's Office website at monmouthcountyclerk.com

The upgraded website focuses on customer navigation with easy to use dropdown menus and navigation buttons to organize the many services the County Clerk's Office provides. A convenient search feature is also available for customers to quickly pinpoint their needs.

In addition, the new website is compatible for viewing on media devices, such as tablets and mobile phones.

Property Fraud

New Property Fraud
Protection Service Available

To help combat the growing trend of Property Fraud, Clerk Hanlon is now providing a free Property Fraud Alert subscription service. The service allows Monmouth County property owners to have their name/property monitored within the Recording Division of the County Clerk's Office, in order to track possible fraudulent activity.

Subscribers will be notified when the name they have submitted to the system is contained in any property document, such as a deed, lien, or mortgage filed in the Monmouth County Clerk's Office.

Preservation Day

Preservation Day 2018

Preservation Day 2018 will be held on April 25th at the County Clerk's Archives Division, which is located on the lower level of the Monmouth County Library Headquarters at 125 Symmes Drive in Manalapan. This event is being held during the American Library Association's Preservation Week which helps to raise awareness of the need for preservation of both personal and public historical collections.

Join us to learn more about preserving your precious family photographs and for a tour of our Archives facility.

  • 10 a.m. - Lecture on Preserving Family Photographs by Monmouth County Archivist Gary D. Saretzky
  • 1:15 p.m. - Tour of the Monmouth County Archives
  • 2 p.m. - Preservation and Playback of Audiotape by Michael Andrec, Archivist, Ukrainian History and Education Center
  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Free scanning of up to three photos for the public, saved to a complimentary CD
