 Looking for a way to feel good, meet people with common interests,
and spend more time in your county parks? Become a Park System
volunteer! It’s never been easier to get started. We’ve planned several
workshops and training sessions for volunteers and those interested in
becoming one.
Here’s what is planned:
Beach Clean-Ups
– Come ready to help by bringing work gloves, wearing sturdy shoes, and
dressing for the weather. Open to ages 14 & up; 13 & under with
parent.
The schedule is as follows:
Gardening & Pruning Workshops - A perfect introduction to becoming a volunteer gardener in the parks, these workshops focus on pruning trees and shrubs, weeding and mulching the beds, and planting flowers. Open to ages 14 & up.

Freneau Woods Park Clean-Up from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, April 22 at Freneau Woods Park,
Aberdeen. Come ready to help by bringing work gloves, wearing sturdy
shoes, and dressing for the weather. Open to ages 16 & up; 15 &
under with parent.
Beach-Nesting Bird Monitor Training from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 at Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park,
Long Branch. Find out how to help protect and monitor the endangered
and threatened bird species nesting at the shore during this session led
by Todd Pover of Conserve Wildlife Foundation of New Jersey.
