Job Summary: Langan is seeking an Environmental Engineer, Scientist, or Geologist to join its collaborative team in Princeton, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing site exploration activities including, but not limited to contaminated site investigation and remediation work; soil and groundwater sampling; vapor intrusion investigation; remedial investigation, design, implementation, and monitoring; pilot tests; data management, processing, and evaluation; and report preparation. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with top industry leadership on a complex and diverse portfolio of environmental projects in a continuous learning environment.
Job Responsibilities: Perform field inspections and environmental investigations; Perform air, soil, gas, groundwater sampling and remediation of contaminated properties; Assist with the planning and execution of field investigations by logging borings, collecting samples, performing field tests, and collecting and recording data. Perform routine and special calculations; Field oversight of remediation activities and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with job specifications; Identify and implement solutions to both routine and more complex field and/or laboratory problems and accurately document results; Communicate with supervisor on any problems encountered on project sites; +Assist with the preparation of technical reports, specifications, and plans; data management and evaluation; and environmental assessment and remediation; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications+ Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Geology; Minimum GPA of 3.0; 0-2 years of work-related experience; Prior relevant internship or professional work experience preferred; Applicants with an engineering degree are preferred to have EIT Certification, or current registration for FE exam; Strong technical education, professional demeanor, and desire to learn; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; Possess a valid driver's license in good standing and reliable transportation access to remote job site locations; and Availability to work overtime as needed.

Description Under general direction of the Executive County Superintendent of Schools, designs, produces, and delivers Special Education curricula, training, program improvement, and related education services to education agencies to ensure the achievement of mandated goals and to meet existing, and emerging needs; performs mandated regulatory functions; performs work of a difficult nature and generally works independently in the monitoring and evaluation of education programs in school districts statewide; provides technical assistance to school districts to improve programs and services for students with disabilities and their families and leads county-level professional development groups; reviews and approves local educational programs; approves facilities and assists district personnel with development of effective special education services and all placements of students in private schools for students with disabilities and in other schools outside of the resident district; assists educators, administrators, and parents in resolving conflicts pursuant to due process procedures and serves as liaison between the Department and local special education administrators; and performs other related work as required.
Requirements
Education Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Special Education or related field to Special Education. Note: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in any field AND possession of a New Jersey Teacher's, Supervisor's, or School Administrator's certificate issued by the State Board of Examiners and/or other professional endorsement in field may be substituted for the above education.
Experience Four (4) years of experience in education programs in a school district or other educational institutions in programs providing Special Education.
Preferred Education/Experience Experience and knowledge of Naples Law; experience and knowledge of class size waivers, home instruction, IDEA flow-through applications, final and carryover reports for IDEA, private schools for the handicapped, requests to establish change, or eliminate special education programs.

Description As a participant in the Governor’s Fellowship Program, under the close supervision of a cabinet member or other executive official in the Department of Education, assists in the performance of the routine functions involved in the formulation and implementation of policies relating to modern government administrative practices and procedures and their practical application. The New Jersey Department of Education is seeking a 2024-2025 Governor’s Fellow to serve as the Department’s Academic Recovery Policy Analyst to assist in analyzing and addressing persistent academic achievement gaps across the state and post-pandemic academic recovery.
The Academic Recovery Policy Analyst will assist in the identification, coordination, and analysis of NJDOE or other state data that may improve the Department’s understanding of the factors that contribute to statewide assessment scores in reading/ELA; coordinate resources across the Department and recommend strategies for improving cohesion across current and future initiatives that are designed to bolster student literacy and/or other areas of student academic achievement; analyze current and future policy initiatives that, if not explicitly designed to improve literacy, may nonetheless be leveraged towards that goal. This work shall include both state and national efforts; assist in the development, implementation, and recommendations of an internal NJDOE workgroup on literacy and academic recovery from across divisions; provide support during stakeholder engagement on best practices for improving literacy; seek out funding opportunities to support academic recovery initiatives, including professional development for Department staff and LEAs; and performs other related work as required.
This is a one year fellowship.
Requirements
Education/Experience Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree and a combination of established excellence in academics and/or professional achievement; proven leadership ability and potential for further growth; demonstrated commitment to public service; effective written communication skills as demonstrated by writing assignment; evidence of effective teamwork.
Note: Applicants may utilize college credits in combination with the indicated experience to meet the job requirements. These credits will be applied on a year-for-year basis with thirty (30) semester hour credits being equal to one (1) year of experience.
