MERCER COUNTY CLERK ADVISES ON UPCOMING JUNE PRIMARY ELECTION

TRENTON -- As the 2024 Primary Election approaches, the Mercer County Clerk’s Office is pleased to inform constituents about the various voting options available. Whether you prefer to vote early, by mail, or in person on Election Day, Mercer County ensures that your voice is heard in this crucial democratic process.

Early Voting

Early Voting will be available from May 29 – June 2. No matter where you live in Mercer County, you can vote your specific ballot in-person at any one of the seven designated in-person Early Voting locations. Early Voting allows voters to avoid potential crowds and accommodate busy schedules. The addresses and hours can be found at the bottom of this article, and we have included a QR code so that you can take these with you.

Vote By Mail Deadlines

Vote by Mail is another great way to vote on your own schedule. You simply need to complete and mail in an application and a ballot will be sent to you at your home, or designated address. To ensure that your mail-in ballot is counted in the 2024 Primary Election, it is essential to be aware of important deadlines. The deadline to request a mail-in ballot is May 28th, and all completed ballots must be postmarked by June 4th or returned to a designated drop box by 8pm on Election Day, June 4th. They also may be returned to the Mercer County Board of Elections, located at 930 Spruce Street, Lawrence, by that same deadline. Ballots can be tracked HERE.

Drop Box Locations

In addition to Early Voting, Mercer County offers secure drop box locations across the county for those who prefer to vote by mail but wish to avoid relying on postal services. Drop boxes are a convenient and reliable option for submitting your mail-in ballot. Drop Boxes across Mercer County will be open on April 22nd for the June Primary Election. Drop box locations can be found HERE.

Please remember you must be a registered voter before you can vote in any of the ways offered by the State of New Jersey. If a voter is unsure as to whether he or she is registered, or if a voter has recently moved, you can verify registration information with the Mercer County Superintendent of Elections Office at 609-989-6075, or the Mercer County Clerk’s Election Office prior to the 2024 Presidential Election, especially if they have recently moved. Voter registration forms can be found HERE.

Lastly, you have the option of voting at you designated polling location in person on Election Day, June 4th. Sample ballots will have your location printed on it so please look at that before you go to the polls, as some locations have changed. Also, the ballot will look slightly different due to a Federal Court order. You should familiarize yourself with the Sample Ballots before Election Day.

For more information, visit the Clerk's election page, or the New Jersey Department of State - Division of Elections - NJ Voter Information Portal, or call the County Clerk's Election Office at 609-989-6495. For polling location questions, or to become a poll worker, you may contact the Mercer County Board of Elections Office at 609-989-6522.
