Description
Under general direction of a supervisor in the Office of Student Support Services, designs, produces, and delivers curricula, training, program improvement, and related education services to education agencies to ensure the achievement of mandated goals and to meet existing and emerging needs; performs mandated regulatory functions; performs work of a professional nature and generally works independently in the monitoring and evaluation of education programs in school districts statewide; and performs other related work as required.
Support the design, development, and delivery of resources and training to support districts in a consistent implementation of the New Jersey Tiered System of Supports (NJTSS) based on Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) and other frameworks for providing intervention and referral services for all students. Provide universal learning opportunities for school districts seeking to better understand the key components of MTSS. Provide professional development and technical assistance for districts interested in implementing NJTSS and other intervention frameworks. Oversee the implementation of contracted agreements as it relates to the NJTSS and related topic areas. Serve as a liaison on behalf of the Office of Student Support Services (OSSS) to integrate NJTSS across the Department of Education. As assigned, support the OSSS in crafting content for grant proposals related to and surrounding NJTSS and ancillary topics. Champion educational equity through the implementation of NJTSS with a focus on positive school culture and climate.
Requirements
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Education or related field.
Note: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in any field AND possession of a New Jersey Teacher's, Supervisor's, or School Administrator's certificate issued by the State Board of Examiners and/or other professional endorsement in field may be substituted for the above education.
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience in education programs in a school district or other educational institution.
Preferred Education/Experience:
Three (3) years leadership experience supporting the implementation of interventions as part of intervention and referral services, a response to intervention system or MTSS. Experience with providing intervention to multilingual and special education students to increase inclusive practices. Demonstrated experience in providing instructional coaching to educators including teachers. Conducting cross collaborative efforts to strengthen and implement schoolwide and/or districtwide NJTSS.

Description
Under direction of a supervisor at the Marie H Katzenbach School for the Deaf, facilitates communication between deaf, or hard of hearing individuals on diverse topics, and under varying situations, by performing highly responsible and complex sign language interpreting; utilizes a variety of modes of communication such as oral interpreting or deaf-blind interpreting; provides technical assistance for the development of programs and activities relevant to the needs of the deaf or hard of hearing community; and performs other related work as required.
Requirements
Education:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with an Associate's degree or higher with a major concentration in an Interpreter for the Deaf Training Program. Coursework must include Deaf Culture, American Sign Language, and Interpreting. Note: A Bachelor's or Master's degree which includes, or is supplemented by, the coursework cited above is acceptable in meeting the education requirement. Note: An Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master’s degree which includes, or is supplemented by, a certificate of completion from a recognized Interpreter for the Deaf Training Program is acceptable in meeting the special coursework.
Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in American Sign Language Interpretation, which must have been gained within the past five (5) years. Special Skills: Appointees must be able to communicate effectively in the language of the deaf, American Sign Language, sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Note: Appointees must possess a National Associate of the Deaf Certificate (NAD), Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf Certificate (RID), or National Interpreter Credentials (NIC).
Preferred Education/Experience:
New Jersey Certificate as an Educational Interpreter.
