Appointments are necessary to be sworn in at County Connection. To schedule an appointment you may contact Chelsea Colavita at ccolavita@mercercounty.org, or Liz Pagano at epagano@mercercounty.org. You may also call the County Clerk’s office at 609-989-6464 or 609-989-6465.

The remaining dates for 2023 are as follows:

March 2, 2023            April 6, 2023

       May 4, 2023               June 1, 2023

July 6, 2023               August 3, 2023

September 7, 2023      October 5, 2023

November 2, 2023       December 7, 2023

The Mercer County Clerk’s Office also swears in notaries public at our Trenton Office, at 209 S. Broad Street, every business day during regular business hours (with late hours on Wednesday evening). No appointment is needed for services in the Trenton Office.

To be sworn in by the Mercer County Clerk,  prospective notaries must apply online through the NJ Department on Treasury and have their applications signed by a legislator. Notary Application forms can be found online here. Since one now must file the notary application online, it will be signed by the applicant’s legislator electronically as well. Once the State processes the application, a notary commission will arrive by mail. This is when you visit the Offices of the County Clerk so we may swear you in and record your signature. The service fee is $15, and both checks and money orders are accepted. Prospective notaries will also need a photo ID and commission certificate on hand to be sworn in.

The County Clerk will also provide you with an updated Notary Handbook. These are available at both the County Connection in Hamilton or in our Trenton Office. For more information on notary public services and for updates on our many office services, please visit the Mercer County Clerk’s website at http://www.mercercounty.org/government/county-clerk-/office-services/notary-public, or call the office’s main number at 609-989-6465.
