banding

Join the Stewardship team and our partners from Wild Bird Research Group, Inc at Fiddler's Creek Preserve for a morning session of songbird banding. The Fiddler's Creek Preserve banding station is in its 8th year tracking and collecting data on the changing songbird population in the 40-acre reforestation area at Fiddler's Creek.

Every year the plant community within the reforestation fence changes, and we are studying how the bird community changes with it. We will see a wide variety of species, from long-distance migrant warblers to resident Tufted Titmice. Programs will meet at the Fiddler's Creek Preserve Lot promptly at 7:30 a.m. and run until 9 a.m. This program costs $10 per person, for adults and children ten years and older. Trained and licensed bird banders do all banding.
