Airport nods to historic duo 12-17

By Presidential Proclamation, on Sept. 24, 1959 President Dwight D. Eisenhower declared December 17 to be Wright Brothers Day.  This national observation commemorates the first successful flight of an airplane by Orville and Wilbur Wright accomplished on December 17, 1903 near Kitty Hawk, N.C.

In celebration, Trenton-Mercer Airport will mark Wright Brothers Day on December 17, 2020 with informational displays set up throughout the terminal.  Additionally, a standing life-size cutout of the Wright brothers will be available for picture-taking opportunities with disposable trademark bowler hats and fake mustaches being distributed. Coming soon, the Airport will also be naming its new parking lot, which is expected to open by early spring, in honor of the Wright brothers.
