Annual Rite of Spring: Mercer County Park Commission Opens Docks on the Delaware

Docks on the Delaware

TRENTON, N.J.—Whether it’s boating, fishing or enjoying a day by the river, Mercer County Executive Brian M. Hughes and the Mercer County Park Commission invite area residents to make use of the docks on the Delaware River.

The docks on the Delaware, located behind the Arm & Hammer baseball stadium, will open Saturday, April 13 for use by the public. Starting Saturday, boat owners and the public will have access to the docks through October with regular hours of sunrise to sunset, seven days a week. Free parking is available in the parking lots outside Arm & Hammer Park.

The docks are maintained and operated by the Mercer County Park Commission and allow travelers on the Delaware access to Trenton attractions such as Trenton Thunder baseball games and the new Cooper's Riverview restaurant. The docks are not staffed, so patrons are urged to practice water safety precautions.

“Our County Park system is one of the best, if not the best, in the state, and these docks offer anyone access to the Delaware River, one of the most scenic and enjoyable recreational resources we have in New Jersey,” said Hughes.
