Trenton-Mercer Welcomes Holiday Travelers
 TSA Recommends Extra Travel Time
Trenton-Mercer Airport is ready to serve holiday travelers through the convenience of an airport close to home. The airport recommends travelers arrive two hours in advance of flight departure and be prepared for a busier than usual airport as travelers navigate the terminal laden with holiday packages and winter gear.
The biggest crowds are expected Dec. 21-23 with a second rush expected Dec. 26-30 and Jan. 2 as holiday travelers fly home.
Here are some tips to make your travel experience easier:
IF YOU ARE CATCHING A FLIGHT:
- Ample airport parking is available but the main lots might be full. An overflow parking area near the Scotch Road entrance to Trenton-Mercer Airport will provide shuttle service directly to the main terminal.
- Parking is $8 per day or $2 per hour (up to four hours) and can be paid by cash or credit in the terminal and baggage claim areas or by credit only at the exit gates.
- Trenton-Mercer Airport is conveniently located off exit 75 on Interstate 295 in Mercer County. Other transport options include taxicabs, and on-demand services like Uber and Lyft.
IF YOU ARE ARRIVING:
- Trenton-Mercer’s baggage claim area is a short walk from the aircraft. Please note that the time it takes to unload cargo from the aircraft is the equivalent to the experience at larger airports. Therefore the wait time might seem comparatively prolonged.
- Restrooms are available in the baggage claim area and inside the main terminal area.
- While awaiting your luggage in baggage claim, take advantage of the Parking Pay Station kiosk.
IF YOU ARE PICKING SOMEONE UP:
- Don’t circle the terminal looking for your passengers. Save yourself time and gasoline by using the Free Waiting Area, also known as the cell phone lot. Visitors can park and wait until their passenger calls to let them know they have their bags and are at the curb ready to be picked up.
- Utilize any of the flight status apps such as FlightAware, FlightView or the airline. https://flightaware.com/ https://www.flightview.com/traveltools/
