NJ COVID-19 Updates and More

Do you have questions about when and where you can receive the COVID-19 vaccine, mask requirements, or how to get a COVID-19 test? The State of New Jersey offers up-to-date information, resources, and guidance at our COVID-19 Information Hub.

Schedule Your Booster Shot!

Vaccine

If you are 16 or older and it’s been at least six months since your last shot of Pfizer or Moderna, or at least two months since your J&J shot, you are eligible to receive a booster.

Three reasons to schedule your booster shot today:

  1. Protect Yourself: A booster will increase or “boost” your level of protection, which may have gone down since your last COVID-19 vaccine.
  2. Protect Your Loved Ones: A booster will help to protect you and your loved ones, as you gather to celebrate the holidays.
  3. Protect Your Community: Boosters help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and protect your community.

COVID-19 boosters are safe, effective, and free.

To schedule your booster, visit covid19.nj.gov/finder or call 1-855-568-0545.

Reminder: Grace Period for Utility Shutoffs Ends December 31st

Rent

The grace period for utility shutoffs related to non-payments due to a COVID-related issue ends on December 31st.

If you owe money on your utilities, you are urged to do one of the following:

  • Pay what you owe.
  • Arrange a payment plan.
  • Apply for assistance.

You can apply for help now from multiple financial assistance programs using the DCAid Service Portal from New Jersey’s Department of Community Affairs. With expanded income eligibility for some programs, you may be eligible for assistance even if you thought you were not.

To arrange a payment plan, contact your utility company as soon as possible to enroll in a Deferred Payment Agreement to lower your monthly payment and keep your service on.

Stay Safe During the Holidays!

snow

Although the availability and use of effective vaccines will help us have a safer holiday season, it’s still important to continue taking steps to lessen the risk to you, your family, and your friends.

To stay safe this holiday season:

  • Get vaccinated against the flu and COVID-19 (including a booster).
  • Celebrate with those who are fully vaccinated, outdoors, or in places with good ventilation.
  • Wear a mask in crowded indoor spaces and in high-risk settings regardless of vaccination status.
  • Get tested for COVID-19 if you have symptoms or are in close contact with someone presumed to have COVID-19.
  • Stay home if you feel sick!
