If you are a New Jersey small business owner impacted by Tropical Storm Ida, be sure to take photos and document any damage resulting from the storm. It is very important to have documentation of the impact of the storm, as it may be needed for insurance and any federal or state relief programs that may become available moving forward.

The COVID Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program is a federal disaster relief loan designed to better serve and support our small business communities still reeling from the pandemic, especially hard-hit sectors such as restaurants, gyms, and hotels. The U.S. Small Business Administration is ready to receive new applications immediately from small businesses looking to take advantage of new policy changes which include an increased loan cap to $2 million, expanded use of funds, and more.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering two loans for businesses in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s designated Tropical Storm Ida disaster areas. The Economic Injury Disaster Loans help small businesses, private non-profits, small agricultural cooperatives, and other organizations meet working capital needs caused by the disaster.
The Physical Disaster Loans help businesses and private non-profit organizations of any size borrow up to $2 million to repair or replace disaster-damaged or destroyed real estate, machinery and equipment, inventory, and other business assets.
|
The IRS is offering tax relief to businesses in the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s designated disaster areas. The tax relief postpones various tax filing and payment deadlines that occurred starting on August 26th, 2021. As a result, affected individuals and businesses will have until January 3rd, 2022 to file returns and pay any taxes that were originally due during this period.
|
Employers can now report an employee separation, update information, or make a payment to the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (NJDOL) online. Employers have 10 days after receipt of an NJDOL request (sent via mail) to respond online.
