Protect your friends and family: Share info about COVID-19 vaccines
We’re in the swing of summer! While case counts have fallen dramatically we're still seeing pockets of outbreaks — particularly among unvaccinated people.
Do you know someone who still needs a vaccine? Together, we can prevent new outbreaks in our communities and protect our families and friends.
Here is some info you can share with folks:
1. COVID-19 vaccines are safe and nearly 100% effective at preventing death or hospitalization from COVID-19. (On the other hand — getting COVID-19 can cause serious illness or death as well as lagging side effects. Over 600,000 Americans have passed from COVID-19, and an estimated 3.3 Americans will have long term effects from it.) Millions of people have received COVID-19 vaccines under the most intense safety monitoring in U.S. history.
2. Getting a vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and the people you care about from getting COVID-19. And ensuring that you can get back to what you love — like hugging everyone, visiting relatives, and dancing like everyone is watching.
