Stay Safe at Summer Camps!

Hiking Hat

Overnight and day camps are allowed to open in New Jersey this summer, while following required safety guidelines, including:

  • Indoors, unvaccinated staff must wear face masks at all times except when not practicable, such as when eating or drinking, or sleeping.
  • For overnight camps, all unvaccinated/partially vaccinated staff/campers will be required to have a documented negative test within 72 hours of arriving on-site.
  • Camps must ensure, to the maximum extent possible, that groups include the same children and staff each day. Camp operators should minimize unvaccinated staff/camper movement between groups.

Medical Image

As of this week, adult medical daycare centers can reopen while following Department of Health safety protocols. These facilities will need to attest to satisfying the guidance requirements to ensure the centers can be opened safely. If all participants and staff are fully vaccinated, physical distancing and group size requirements do not need to be maintained.
