COVID Alert NJ is New Jersey’s free and secure mobile app that anonymously alerts users if they have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. Organized Sports Guidance

Sports

Beginning Monday, October 12th, “medium risk” and “high risk” sports, such as hockey, basketball, and cheerleading, can resume contact practices and competitions in indoor settings. Facilities and participants must abide by guidance from the Department of Health, and sports under the oversight of the NJSIAA or the NCAA must continue to abide by those associations’ rules. Travel Advisory Extended

Travel

Three states were added to New Jersey’s travel advisory this week, bringing the total to 38 states and territories. Travelers arriving from impacted states and territories should quarantine for 14 days upon arrival. View the updated list and learn more about the self-quarantine.

Moratorium on Utility Shutoffs Extended

Water

Governor Murphy has issued a new Executive Order - no household may have its electricity, gas service, or water shut off for nonpayment through March 15th, 2021. The moratorium against Internet or voice services is extended through November 15th for general households, and through March 15th, 2021 for households with school-age children who need Internet connectivity for remote learning. Learn more about the moratorium and assistance programs to help pay for utility bills.
