Important Notice: Sidewalk Snow & Ice Removal Required by Friday, Jan. 30 at Noon
Ewing Township experienced a significant snowstorm last weekend, resulting in heavy snowfall that has been challenging to clear. While Township ordinance requires snow and ice to be removed from sidewalks within 12 hours after the end of a storm, the Township has provided a grace period in recognition of the storm’s severity.
All property owners and tenants must clear sidewalks abutting their property by 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.
Clearing sidewalks is essential for public safety and helps ensure that pedestrians can travel safely throughout the community. The Township has a responsibility to keep streets and walkways passable for residents of all ages and abilities.
After 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 30, the Township will begin enforcement under the ordinance. This may include:
- Issuance of a summons and a $50 fine, and
- Snow and ice removal by Township contractors, with the cost charged as a lien on the property, as provided by law.
Again, we understand the challenge and we thank you for your cooperation as we work together to keep Ewing safe.
