Owls are among the most cryptic and understudied birds worldwide. Many owls found in our area are seasonal visitors from the far north, quietly passing through or overwintering in our landscapes. Despite widespread fascination with owls, we still know surprisingly little about their movements and ecological needs. This talk will explore new local research that is uncovering the long-distance migrations and conservation needs of these elusive nocturnal predators. Presenter, Tyler Christensen, is an ecologist specializing in the study and conservation of elusive wildlife. As Research Coordinator for the nonprofit Wild Bird Research Group, he leads research on bird migration and habitat use, with a focus on owls. He is also a PhD candidate in Ecology & Evolution at Rutgers University investigating how human-altered landscapes affect the spatial ecology and conservation of cryptic snakes.

It’s Alive! From the creators of Broadway‘s record-breaking musical comedy sensation, The Producers, comes a monster of a hit musical based on Mel Brooks’ classic comedy film masterpiece. This wickedly inspired re-imagining of the legend of Frankenstein is the story of the bright young doctor Frankenstein (that's Fronkensteen) who travels to Transylvania to complete the masterwork of his grandfather by bringing a corpse to life. This electrifying musical stage adaptation of Mel Brooks' brilliantly funny film is a scientifically proven, monstrously good time at the theatre which will leave you in stitches!

Our annual Cow Parade is a celebration in honor of the cows who have given us their milk all year. The Parade is inspired by the Swiss autumnal tradition of bringing the cows down from the high mountains where they have been grazing all summer. For their journey down the mountains the cows are decorated with elaborate flower headdresses and huge bells. We decorate our cows with flower garlands and smaller bells and they parade around the pastures. Join us for a fun afternoon with hayrides, lots of fun activities and crafts for children, food trucks, vendors, artists, artisans, and more. Our Cow Parade is a unique event which has become a beloved tradition in the community.
