The Special Olympics New Jersey 2025 Summer Games will once again return to The College of New Jersey! Athletes who participate in summer sports begin practicing in April and compete at local and regional competitions in order to advance to the annual state games.

New Hope Summer Series - Block Party, Fireworks and Drone Show
Friday, June 6, 5 to 9 p.m.
The "spectacular fireworks and synchronized drone show" is set to begin around 9:10 p.m., but the celebration starts early with a block party beginning at 5 p.m. on Stockton Avenue between Bridge and Ferry streets. Expect a mix of returning favorites and new vendors, plus local artists, live entertainment.

Pride on the Plaza in Princeton
Friday, June 6, 7 to 10 p.m.
It is the 50th anniversary of the height of the disco era, and we're marking the milestone and launching Pride Month at this community event. Clothing inspired by the era is encouraged! The event will also feature an appearance by drag artist Divinity Banks and a chance to do the Hustle and other iconic dances. Inside the library in the Community Room, there will be space to connect with others. The musicians of the Disco Funk Machine include the local band The Beagles with Joy as well as select members of Loose Bricks and added vocals by Olive Joseph and Catrice Joseph-Dean.

Howell Farm's two teams play by 19th-century Town Ball rules, and invite visitors of all ages to step up to the plate as "Striker" and face off against the "Thrower." But be careful of the Referee, who sits in a chair on the field and charges fines of up to 5 cents for breaking the rules. At 11 a.m. the Flemington Neshanocks face off against the Elizabeth Resolutes. At 1:30 p.m. 1:30 p.m. join Howell Farm's own Hogs and Bulls for a public game on the farmhouse lawn.

Mercer County Bike Drive
Saturday June 7, 12 noon to 4 p.m.
The Mercer County Planning Department and the Mercer County Park Commission are hosting a bike drive for the benefit of the Boys & Girls Club Bike Exchange. This non-profit run by 50 volunteers collects, conditions, and sells used, quality bikes to people in the Trenton and Mercer County area. Since 2009 the Bike Exchange has repaired, reconditioned, and sold over 27,000 donated bikes, raising more than $1,600,000 for the Boys & Girls Club after-school programs which serve over 700 children daily. Over the past several years the Bike Exchange has given away approximately 300 bikes annually to youth in Trenton and urban areas throughout New Jersey.

YWCA Princeton is thrilled to announce its 21st Annual Firecracker 5K Run/Walk, taking place on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at 8:00 AM at Veteran's Park, 2206 Kuser Road, Hamilton, NJ. This cherished community event supports the Pearl Bates Scholarship Fund at The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center, honoring Pearl Bates, a dedicated YWCA Princeton volunteer who passed away in 1963. The fund provides essential financial assistance to families seeking high-quality, year-round childcare at The Burke Foundation Early Childhood Center at YWCA Princeton.
The Firecracker 5K is more than just a race; it's a family-friendly celebration featuring a USATF-certified 5K course, 50-yard dash or a 100-yard dash for children (ages 3-8), lawn games, prizes, and a live DJ. Travelin' Toms Coffee Truck will be on site as well! Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers overall, as well as the top three male and female runners in 16 different age groups. Participants who register by May 31 are guaranteed a t-shirt.
