Art of Hip Hop at Arts Council of Princeton
Thursday May 22, 6 to 7:30 p.m.
When addressing the beloved genre and culture that was birthed from African-American oppression, it must be noted that it was founded on these 5 pillars that must be upheld and maintained: DJing, B-boying/Breaking, Graffiti, MCing (Writing), and the Knowledge. Join us for an evening to discuss and demonstrate the ART OF Hip Hop with focus on MCing and the Knowledge. For your presenter, we bring to you Slim da Wit, an artist from Brick City (a.k.a; Newark, NJ), to take us through the process leading up to the artistic expression before it hits radios and streaming services. We ask that you come with a curious mind and maybe a pen as Slim helps you to understand the Hip to the Hop, and to see if you have some bars in you wanting to be expressed, either on paper or to the audience. This event is being offered in collaboration with Awujo Consulting.

Nature’s Wildlife with Ryan Bridge “The Bug Man”
May 24, 8:30 PM - 9:30 PM, Washington Crossing Historic Park, PA
What do insects do at night? How do they see in the dark? This unique program allows Ryan Bridge, “The Bug Man,” to answer these and many more questions, while using 100s of REAL insects to explain the hidden world of nocturnal bugs. The Ultra-Violet world and the bugs that live within it have intrigued Ryan for over 30 years, and he incorporates LIVE INSECTS into the program, detailing Anatomy and Life-Cycle. Keeping it fun and exciting is easy, as many of these insects are the largest species in the world!! And if that’s not cool enough, light stations will be set up to attract insects, where the audience will venture into the darkness to see just what ..is.. flying, crawling, and hopping around at night! Due to the time frame, this program is recommended for ages 8 and older.” This program is free. To register and receive the meeting location for this program, please email: mtruesdale@pa.gov.
