Ewing Township Unveils First of 19 New Gateway Signs
Ewing, N.J. – Ewing Township is celebrating a major milestone in its Gateway Signage Project with the unveiling and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the first “Welcome to Ewing” sign on Olden Avenue. This event marks the beginning of a larger initiative to install 19 gateway signs at key entry points throughout the township.
Mayor Bert Steinmann, joined by members of the Ewing Township Council, local business leaders, and community members, officially unveiled the sign during a ceremony held at 11 a.m. on Olden Avenue.

“This project is about civic pride and community identity,” said Mayor Steinmann. “Whether you live here, work here, or are just visiting, we want you to know when you’re in Ewing, you’re part of something special. These signs are a reflection of our commitment to making Ewing an even more welcoming place.”
The gateway signs, designed and fabricated by Zienowicz Signs & Fabrication, come in three sizes to accommodate different locations. The Olden Avenue sign is the largest, with smaller versions planned for sites including Federal City Road, Sullivan Way, Spruce Street, and Stuyvesant Avenue. Ewing’s Public Works Department is handling the installation. Mayor Steinmann credited longtime resident Michael Dobrowolski for the idea to install gateway signs after he suggested it at a township meeting. Mr. Dobrowolski, in attendance, helped cut the ribbon.

The Gateway Signage Project has been made possible through the financial support of the Ewing Redevelopment Agency, which covered the entire project. The initiative aims to enhance the township’s visibility and strengthen its identity, particularly along key commercial corridors.
“Mercer County traffic data indicates that over 20,000 vehicles pass this location daily,” Steinmann said. “That means thousands of people will see this sign every day, reminding them that Ewing is a thriving community that welcomes residents, visitors, and businesses alike.”

Today’s unveiling is just the beginning. Over the coming months, additional signs will be installed across town as part of this initiative.
“This is another step forward in our efforts to raise Ewing’s profile,” Steinmann added. “Especially along Olden Avenue, a major commerce corridor, we want businesses to know we appreciate them and are invested in their success.”
