Dear Ewing Community,
This week, I’m excited to share several important opportunities and events happening in our community.
First, I want to encourage all Ewing Township high school juniors and seniors to apply for the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. This statewide scholarship offers three $1,000 awards and focuses on the theme "What I Like About My Hometown." Read ahead for details.
We’re also pleased to host our first Stay NJ Information Session on April 25 at 10 a.m. in the Ewing Township Municipal Building. Representatives from the New Jersey State Treasury Office will be on hand to explain the program and answer questions. We hope you’ll 'Save the Date' and take advantage of this opportunity to learn how Stay NJ could provide property tax relief for you or your loved ones.
Additionally, I want to highlight HomeFront’s Week of Hope from February 10-15—a chance to volunteer, learn, and support families impacted by poverty and homelessness in our region. And for service providers, of which Ewing has several, the Mercer County Transition Fair on March 1 at Lawrence High School is a great opportunity to connect with students with intellectual and developmental disabilities as they prepare for life after graduation.
Thank you for being an engaged part of our community. Stay involved, stay informed, and as always, let’s keep working together to make Ewing the best it can be!

NEWS
Ewing Announces Scholarship Opportunity through League of Municipalities
The New Jersey State League of Municipalities and Ewing Township Mayor Bert H. Steinmann announce an excellent scholarship opportunity for the high school juniors and seniors from Ewing Township.
We have teamed up to offer three $1,000.00 scholarships through the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition. This statewide scholarship competition centers on the theme "What I Like About My Hometown."
Many of the elected officials and appointed board members serve Ewing Township with little or no compensation. It is their desire to serve their community which compels them to public service. These officials, along with a cadre of dedicated professionals, are guardians of our hometown comforts and security. They give of their time and talents to help plan our community and preserve our way of life.
They serve us year-round, every day and yet are hardly noticed. This scholarship competition will help rectify that while encouraging our future municipal leaders.
Full details on the application process and contest are available here or by clicking the image below. We hope to see many of our young adults representing Ewing Township in the Louis Bay 2nd Future Municipal Leaders Scholarship Competition!

This is the first in a series of free information sessions Ewing Township will offer, beginning in April. The sessions are open to all—no need to be a Ewing resident to attend.
Stay informed and take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about how Stay NJ could benefit you. We hope to see you there!
February is Black History Month
American history resonates with the names of great African-American men and women, and Black History Month is our nation's way of showing respect and recognition for the hard work of and sacrifices made by African Americans.
