44th Annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast

The Rev. Dr. Charles F. Boyer of Greater Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Trenton, gives the keynote speech. Theme for the 2025 celebration is "Empowering Change: Building a Future of Justice and Equality." All proceeds support the nonprofit organization providing scholarships and book awards for area high school students who are pursuing higher education. Register. $75.
Artifacts of African Diaspora, Mercer County Community College

Opening reception for exhibit that illuminates the historical significance of the African diaspora in visual and musical arts. Artifacts on display include musical instruments, sculptures, books, historical documents, and more, that provide an immersive education about the evolution of African American art and culture from slavery to modern times. Trenton Creatives Networking Brunch

Building on the success of recent creative initiatives like the Trenton Pop Up Market and the Art of Matloc Art Show Fundraiser, Isles, Inc., in partnership with Much Better Studios will host the Trenton Creatives Networking Brunch on Saturday, February 1st, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 125 South Warren St in Trenton. This event will highlight the "Trenton Arts in Focus" plan for the Creek to Canal Creative District and continue the momentum of the successful Trenton Pop Up Market series.
The event is free and open to the public and is funded by the Downtown Trenton Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program through the NJ Department of Community Affairs.

Clifford Ward: I'LL MAKE ME A WORLD, prologue, Artworks Trenton

The Artworks Trenton exhibition is a first look at select pieces to be featured in GFS' upcoming exhibition, "Clifford Ward: I'll Make Me a World," opening in May. On view through April 12.

Tapping the Sugar Maples at Howell Farm
Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m., Howell Farm, 70 Woodens Lane, Hopewell Twp. Hundreds of sugar maple trees line the banks of Moore's Creek and the nearby woods at the foot of Baldpate Mountain...and in February farmers begin the annual work of sap collection and maple syrup production. The first step takes place in the sugar bush. Visitors can join Howell Farm’s expert tree-tappers for a lesson in how to tap a backyard maple tree and make syrup at home.

The Art of Fly Tying, The Watershed

The Art of Fly Tying Though it can be intimidating to tie your own flies, catching a fish on a fly that you tied yourself is exciting and very satisfying! This series of Tuesday night fly tying sessions will focus on tying variety of trout fishing flies and how to fish them. The instructors and materials are provided by the Ernest Schwiebert Chapter of Trout Unlimited. If you have your own tying tools, we encourage you to bring them. We will supply tying equipment for those who need it.
Please register for each session you plan to attend. In the event of bad weather- this event may be cancelled. If that happens any fees collected will be refunded to your original method of payment.
