March Nature Programs at Liberty State Park
Pre-registration is required for all programs unless specified. Space is limited. For more information or to register for a program, please contact the Nature Center at 201-915-3400 x503 or email LSPNatureCenter@dep.nj.gov. Children must be accompanied by an adult. You may register a maximum of six participants per reservation. Pets are not permitted on programs unless they are service animals. SCHEDULE IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE.

Winter Wildlife Walk
Do you wonder what wildlife might be active during the winter season? Come on out and join our Park Naturalist on this winter wildlife hike. If we’re lucky, we may even spot some seals! Please dress to be outdoors, wear shoes comfortable for walking, and bring binoculars if you have them. We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Recommended for ages 8 & up.

Sensational Sea Glass
Ever walk along the beach and come across those smooth, colorful pieces of glass and wonder how they can be put to use? This workshop will show you how to find and make art with sea glass! Please dress to be outdoors and wear sturdy shoes. We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Recommended for ages 8 & up.

Hike to Caven Point
Please join us on a leisurely hike to Caven Point Beach to explore the
urban and natural shoreline of the Upper NY Bay and unique features of Caven Point Beach. We will meet at Lot #1 located at 300 Morris Pesin Drive. Please dress to be outdoors, wear shoes that can get wet/muddy, and bring binoculars if you have them. The walk is about 1 1/2 miles round trip, so please be sure all participants are comfortable walking that distance. All ages welcome.

Nature's Canvas
Bring your creative hands (or paws, or claws, or flippers) to Liberty State Park and get up close and personal with some of nature’s most captivating creatures. Express your natural side as we learn about these creatures and paint/sketch your very own work of art to take home with you! We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. All ages welcome. The program is co-sponsored by the Educational Arts Team.

Volunteer Shoreline Cleanup
Looking for volunteer opportunities in Liberty State Park? Come help lend a
hand cleaning up the shores of the Richard J. Sullivan Natura Area by
removing trash that has come in with the tides. We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Please dress to be outdoors, wear shoes that can get wet/muddy, and bring work gloves if you have them. Recommended for ages 6 & up. This program is co-sponsored by the AmeriCorps Watershed Ambassadors.
