Dear DCF Providers,
President Donald Trump has recently issued some Executive Orders and memos, making changes to long-standing rules and regulations that impact the work of DCF and our partners in the provision of programs and services. Some of these directives are being challenged in court and have been stayed, pending judicial hearings. One was just rescinded. As we move forward, and in response to inquiries from many of you, we are sharing the information we have that may be helpful to you, your organizations and the individuals, children and families who seek our services.
- The Department of Human Services’ Office of New Americans has useful resources for individuals and organizations/businesses as they prepare for interactions with federal immigration law enforcement.
-
DCF created a one pager encouraging families to create a preparedness plan in the event caregivers are separated from their children for any reason, including natural disaster, incarceration or deportation. The QR code provides access to a webpage with additional information and resources.
-
The federal Office of Management and Budget has rescinded its memo related to the temporary pause of federal grants, loans and financial assistance to provide clarity about impacted programs.
We will keep in touch to update you on any additional changes to federal guidelines that may affect operations, or offer new resources and supports available to the families and individuals we serve. Thank you for your patience and continued partnership as we navigate these quickly changing circumstances together in order to help the people we serve remain safe, healthy, and connected.
-NJ Department of Children and Families
