NH Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver Renewal 2026-2031
Public Comment for the DD Waiver renewal is open until February 11, 2026. Details on the public comment process can be found at https://www.dhhs.nh.gov/nh-developmental-disabilities-waiver-and-acquired-brain-disorder-waiver-renewal-2026-2031.
The State will host four public hearings during the public comment period. Two sessions will be held in person, and two sessions will be held virtually. The dates, times and locations of these public hearings are listed on the DD Renewal web page.
Last year, DHHS requested input from the public as BDS began the Developmental Disabilities Waiver renewal process. BDS held listening sessions to hear feedback, experiences, and thoughts from individuals and families who utilize services on the DD Waiver. Sharing what has worked and what needs attention helped to inform waiver changes in the application that is available for formal public comment from January 7 – February 11, 2026. The public is invited to review and comment on the draft renewal.
Join the New Hampshire HCBS Workforce Community of Practice
Tired of trying to tackle workforce challenges in a vacuum? As a leader of a provider organization delivering Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), you know that the "revolving door" of direct care staffing requires more than just quick fixes—it requires a unified strategy. Our monthly virtual Community of Practice (CoP) is a dedicated 90-minute space designed for Executive Directors, HR professionals, Workforce Development and Program leaders to move from "crisis mode" to "collaborative action."
Held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 2-3:30 pm, it is an opportunity to share challenges and wins for mutual success.
What to Expect Each Month:
• Strategy Spotlights: High-level presentations on modern workforce trends. • Promising Practices: Real-world success stories and shared initiatives from your peers across the state. • Peer-to-Peer Learning: Facilitated discussions to troubleshoot your specific hurdles.
Each month, we will tackle challenges and solutions across the employee lifecycle, providing you with actionable insights for attracting, selecting, training, and retaining the direct care workforce.
Invest 90 minutes. Gain a statewide network of solutions.
Our inaugural Community of Practice session kicked off on January 21st with a dive into understanding and leveraging workforce data - the foundations of workforce stability – and how data can drive targeted solutions. Those who joined told us they were returning to work relying “less on the vibe of the current state of the workforce and more on the actual numbers for direction.”
Join us February 18th as we shift our focus to Recruitment Marketing. We will be tackling the three most critical questions in the current market:
Who are you looking for? * How do you find them? * How do you attract them?

NHSP Contact Person Notification Program |
The Contact Person Notification Program provides a resource for persons with certain disabilities that may contribute to an inability to effectively communicate in an encounter with law enforcement.
The program provides a means by which the participating person, or legal guardian, may voluntarily provide information to the Department of Safety for entry into the Contact Person Notification Program database, and be accessible to law enforcement, when a query is made on the participating person.
Examples are persons who have medical conditions that may put them at risk, persons suffering from a neurocognitive disorder, such as dementia, a mental illness, an intellectual disability, or Autism Spectrum Disorder.
An application by the participating/contact person (or their legal guardian) is required. It must provide demographic information about the individual, and information about the person(s) to be contacted who will assist with communications. The application may also provide an opportunity for the applicant to provide specific behavioral information concerning the participating person, such as a negative reaction to loud noises, to assist law enforcement when interacting with the person. The record may be modified when new or updated information becomes available from the participating person or their legal guardian to include changes in status for the participating person or changes to the contact person's information. The record may be cancelled upon notification by the participating person or their legal guardian.
To join the program, complete and submit one of the applicable forms available on the NH State Police Documents and Forms page.

Help Shape the Future of Aging
In just 5 questions, you can help shape the future of aging in New Hampshire. We are asking for your input as the NH Alliance for Healthy Aging (NHAHA) begins a strategic planning process to guide our work as we move into our second decade.
Why Your Input Matters
As NHAHA enters its second decade of work, we are building on what we have accomplished and learned so far. On February 18, we will begin a strategic planning process to refine and focus our approach, and we will be seeking input and feedback from partners and stakeholders throughout this process.
The landscape of aging continues to shift, and your perspective will assist us in understanding the current conditions and needs for older adults, including what is supporting and getting in the way of healthy aging in our communities.
This survey is the first step in that process, and your responses will inform upcoming strategic planning sessions as we think about how NHAHA can best support older adults for the next 10 years and beyond.
Please note: the survey will close on Friday, February 13, at close of business.
Thank you for sharing your insights and helping shape what comes next.
