Second Business Plan and Priority Initiatives Released

CEO Phillips and Governor Ricketts launching business plan.

Governor Pete Ricketts and Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) CEO Courtney Phillips released DHHS’ second annual business plan, titled “Good Life. Great Mission. Helping People Live Better Lives.” The 20 initiatives will result in measurable improvements and continue a commitment by the agency to be accountable and transparent.

Wallen named Children and Family Services Director

Wallen

On August 4, 2017 Matt Wallen will transition from DHHS Chief of Staff to Division Director of Children and Family Services (CFS).

“Matt has proven himself to be a thoughtful and capable leader within the agency,” said Governor Ricketts.  “His experience in leading successful initiatives through the business plan and working with every division of the agency will serve CFS well as he takes on this new role.”

Gov. Ricketts: DHHS “Delivered” on First Business Plan

2016-17 Business Plan Results

Governor Pete Ricketts applauded achievements made over the past year by the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), as part of its first-ever business plan. It included 25 initiatives aimed at integrating services, promoting independence, focusing on prevention, leveraging technology, and increasing operating efficiencies.

DHHS has fully completed 19 of the 25 initiatives and has made substantial progress on the others.  In fact, 199 of the 213 deliverables – over 93 percent – have been completed.
