Join in the fun with Nebraska's Birding Bowl
Get ready — the Nebraska Birding Bowl is back for its third year! This fun, free statewide birding competition is for people of all ages and skill levels.
Plus, participants have a chance to win prizes such as a two-night cabin stay at a state park, bird feeders, binoculars and a $1,000 cash prize.
Here's how to participate:
-
Register online anytime in April or May. (Make sure to read the rules!)
- Choose your category. Options are available for youth and families, backyard birders, beginner-to-casual birders, and those competing to observe the most species. Form a team or go solo!
- Use eBird to record your sightings from May 1-31.
If you'd like a snazzy limited-edition Nebraska Birding Bowl T-shirt, make an online donation of $30 or more to the Wildlife Conservation Fund now through April 30. This fund supports important bird habitats and a variety of bird monitoring and research.
May is the perfect time to spot birds across Nebraska, and this event is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, learn about Nebraska's birds and contribute valuable data to bird conservation. Learn more and sign up today!
