Find a fun park event near you
Sunny days and growing things calls for time outside to enjoy all of it. We are planning several events at state parks near you in the coming weeks; pick one — or several! — and bring the family for a relaxing time in nature:
-
Butterfly survey training (May 21): Do something great for conservation! We're looking for volunteers to help document rare butterflies this summer. Join us for a training session at Schramm Education Center and learn how to participate. See details.
-
Free Fishing and Park Entry Day (May 21): Enjoy a Saturday of fishing or state park activities without the need to buy a fishing or park entry permit for the day. We're holding a bunch of fun events to celebrate, with plenty of fishing opportunities; check it out!
-
Melodramas at Mahoney State Park (May 27-Aug. 21): Grab some popcorn and enjoy some light-hearted family fun at a Mahoney State Park melodrama this summer! Learn more.
-
Migratory Bird Day (May 28): This action-packed day at Indian Cave State Park includes something for everyone in the family: a fish fry; car, truck, tractor and bike show; glow-in-the-dark bird egg hunt; crafts and more! See details.
-
Living history at Fort Atkinson (June 4-5): Travel 200 years back in time and experience living history weekend at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park. See the world of Fort Atkinson brought to life, including special presentations and tours. Learn more.
