Enjoy an outdoors Halloween

For a Halloween set in the beautiful outdoors, come to a Nebraska state park! Parks around the state will be holding various festivities, including:

Haunted Hollow Movie Night (Indian Cave State Park, Oct. 9, 16, 23): Bring your blankets and chairs! Fridays are move night in the pasture at Indian Cave. Join us for outdoor viewing of family-friendly Halloween classics, and stay for the scenic hiking and camping.

Hallowfest (Ponca State Park, Oct. 10 & 17): For more than two decades, Ponca State Park's Hallowfest has thrilled and delighted guests of all ages. Join us this year for crafts, pumpkin carving, a campground decorating contest, a haunted drive and more.

33rd Annual Pumpkin Carving Festival (Calamus State Recreation Area, Oct. 17): Nothing says "Halloween" quite like a pumpkin carving festival. Bring the family to this one and see what you can create. Other attractions include a scavenger hunt, take-home craft, lighted pumpkins and a campsite decorating contest.

Camp & Treat (Red Willow State Recreation Area, Oct. 23-25): As fun as Red Willow is, it's about to get more fun with some Halloween festivities. Enjoy a pumpkin carving contest and campsite decorating contest, and stay for the park's top-notch fishing, camping and water recreation.

At these events, Nebraska Game and Parks is following CDC guidelines and using COVID-19 safety protocols for the safety of our visitors and park staff. Please contact the park office you are planning to visit for details. All parks and recreation areas remain open for day-use and camping.
