Nebraska Game and Parks

Enjoy next-level outdoor education — for women only!

Woman fishing at sunset

Women are enjoying outdoor pursuits like hunting and angling more than ever, and have contacted us looking for more than just introductory classes.

That's why Nebraska Game and Parks has teamed with Woman in the Outdoors (sponsored by NWTF) and Woman on the Wings (sponsored by PF) to offer next-level, hands-on learning.

Build your skills and have fun with friends at:

  • Fishing with Friends, June 25 at Holmes Lake in Lincoln, July 25 at Zorinski Lake in Omaha: Have a friends' night out! Come learn more about our woman’s outreach programs, learn how to fish and take home healthy fish recipes. See more.
  • Lunch and Lessons, Fridays in July, Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln: Perfect for beginners, our Lunch and Lessons firearm series provides an introduction to different gun types — at a convenient time. Bring a sack lunch and join us on the range! Learn more.
  • Ladies Day on the Range, July 13, Weeping Water Gun Club: This event is perfect for any woman who wants to learn how to shoot and increase her knowledge of rifles, handguns, shotguns and archery equipment. See details.
  • Ladies Handgun Series, Thursdays in August, Nebraska Game and Parks Outdoor Education Center in Lincoln: Learn basic fundamentals of shooting, handgun selection and safety in a comfortable atmosphere. Read more.
  • Cast and Blast, Sept. 27-29, Halsey National Forest: Kick off the 2019 upland hunting season chasing grouse and camping in the picturesque Nebraska Sandhills. Learn more.

Try one, or two — or try them all! To learn about additional outdoor learning opportunities for women, visit our website. You can also follow us on Facebook for the latest info.
