Experience Winterfest at a Nebraska state park

'Tis the season for family fun -- Winterfest is here!

Don't miss out! Winterfest 2017 is officially underway, with more than a dozen family-friendly seasonal events helping you connect with loved ones during this special time of year.

Take part in old-fashioned Christmas traditions at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park's Classic Christmas and Christmas in the Woods at Ponca State Park, with hayrack rides, holiday crafts, cookie decorating and more.

Some events are a treat for the eyes, featuring historic buildings sparkling with lights and stately mansions dressed in antique Christmas decor. Feast your eyes at Fort Robinson State Park, Arbor Lodge State Historical Park and Buffalo Bill State Historical Park.

Other Winterfest highlights include yule log quests at Ponca State Park and Platte River State Park, birdwatching at Indian Cave State Park and Ponca State Park, disc golf, special hikes, archery, winter painting and more.
