Bighorn Sheep Lottery Permit Applications Close on Aug. 5

LINCOLN – Nebraska residents may apply for a bighorn sheep lottery permit through Aug. 5.

One lottery permit will be issued in 2016. Residents who will be at least 12 years of age by the opening day of the bighorn sheep season may apply. Residents may apply once per calendar year and may receive one permit per lifetime. The nonrefundable application fee is $25. Nonresidents are not eligible.

Applications must be received in the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission’s Lincoln office by 5 p.m. Central time on Aug. 5. Apply at Nebraska Game and Parks offices or via application form in the 2016 Big Game Guide. Online applications through the permitting system at OutdoorNebraska.org/HuntingSeasons must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 5.

The lottery permit for the Nov. 29 – Dec. 22 bighorn sheep hunting season will be drawn Aug. 18.
