A Note From Secretary Howe
North Dakota's Primary Election is only 8 weeks away, and June 9 will be here before we know it! While major elections often get the most attention, the next election is always the most important election.
The Primary Election is especially important because many of the decisions on the ballot affect citizens close to home, directly impacting their everyday activities and quality of life.
City and school contests are final in the Primary, meaning this election decides who will lead and serve at the local level. Additionally, Primary elections determine which partisan, judicial, and county candidates move forward to the General Election in November.
In this update, you'll find a list of important Primary Election dates, newly added toolkit materials to share, and an invitation to connect with my office through our social media channels. I appreciate your willingness to share voting information with your employees, members, family, and friends. If you have ideas to enhance our voter education efforts, please reach out to our communications director Misty Curn at (701) 328-5409 or micurn@nd.gov.

Ideas for Action
Based on the election timeline, here are some ideas for putting the toolkit into action within your business or organization.
- Schedule Secretary Howe or another member of the Secretary of State team to visit with your group. Use the Appearance Request form to schedule an in-person or virtual presentation about North Dakota elections and voting.
- Share the Voting in North Dakota Flyer, which has information about the accepted forms of voter ID. Post the new Voter ID graphic (details below) on breakroom TVs or share it in your newsletter or intranet.
