Active Member Update: 2024 Retirement Education Workshop |
|
 Who should attend a workshop?
Retirement Education Workshops play a crucial role in guiding Teachers' Fund for Retirement (TFFR) members towards their retirement goals. The workshops are especially beneficial for TFFR members who are within 1-10 years of retirement, providing them with essential information and guidance as they prepare for this significant life transition.

Workshop location and agenda
The half-day workshop topics include a TFFR program overview, estate and financial planning, health insurance options, and working after retirement. The agenda is the same for both events, 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Pre-registration is required.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can my spouse attend? Yes, your spouse or a significant other is welcome to attend the workshop as your guest.
What if I can't attend a live event? The virtual event will be recorded, and the materials will be shared on RIO's website under TFFR Member, Retirement Education.
I’m planning to retire next spring. Should I attend the workshop? The workshop is open to all TFFR members, including those planning to retire at the end of the school year. In addition to the workshop, we encourage near retirees to attend a group benefit presentation, typically held in the fall. These sessions provide a more detailed overview of the retirement program, a discussion of benefit options, and the application process.
