The 2026 ND A+ Summative Assessment ELA results, including Individual Student Reports (ISRs) available in ADAM, will be released on Monday, May 18, 2026.
As a reminder, NDDPI, in partnership with Pearson, added new test content related to the Language Usage cluster within the Writing strand of the ELA content area. This enhancement required additional analyses and quality-control measures to be completed before student scores could be released to educators, parents, and students.
What Are Individual Student Reports (ISRs)?
ISRs provide a detailed summary of each student’s performance in:
-
ELA (reading and writing)
- Mathematics
-
Science (for tested grades)
Each report includes:
-
Overall performance level and scale score
-
Reporting category breakdowns for groups of related standards
-
Lexile and Quantile measures (as applicable)
These reports are valuable tools for understanding individual student progress and supporting conversations between educators, students, and families and caregivers.
⚠️ Reminder: Each district and school is responsible for distributing ISRs to students and families. Districts and schools may distribute printed ISRs from ADAM and/or share information about the Family Portal, including the needed login information (student state ID [SSID], student last name, and student date of birth). The ND A+ Summative Introductory Family Letter is available to support communication with families and caregivers.

Need Help Understanding the Reports?
Detailed guidance on accessing and interpreting ISRs is available in the ND A+ Summative Assessment Report Interpretation Guide on the ND A+ Portal under Administration Resources > Summative Resources > User Guides.
As a reminder, the Family Resources section is now available on the ND A+ Portal. This section is designed to support families in understanding the ND A+ assessment system, accessing student results, and navigating key features of the Family Portal.
This section will continue to expand over time and currently includes the “Introducing Family Portal” document. Family Portal is a new resource designed to help families—including parents, guardians, and other family members—support their students’ educational progress and learning by providing direct access to ND A+ Summative Assessment results.
Beginning with the spring 2026 ND A+ Summative Assessment, families will be able to access their student’s assessment results through Family Portal when results are released on June 22, 2026. The platform will provide on-screen score information with resources to help interpret results, a personalized video report explaining the student’s performance, and the ability to download the full Individual Student Report (ISR).
Family Portal is designed to be user-friendly and accessible across devices, including smartphones, tablets, and computers. Both the site and personalized video reports are available in both English and Spanish, and families can switch languages directly from the homepage.
Access to Family Portal is secure and requires three student-specific credentials:
-
Student State ID (SSID)
- Student last name
- Student date of birth
We encourage schools and districts to review the Introducing Family Portal document and share this information widely with families as part of your assessment communications this spring.
The ISRs available to educators in ADAM contain the same information that families will see in the Family Portal. However, the formatting and overall look of the ISRs differ slightly between ADAM and the Family Portal. To ensure schools and districts can access the same information in the same format that families receive, the Family Portal ISRs will also be posted in ADAM under Reporting > Report Assets. District and school administrators can access the Family Portal ISRs through the ADAM platform beginning on June 22, 2026.
As in previous years, public school districts are asked to communicate their intended path for interim assessment administration for the 2026–2027 school year. This information is being collected through the 2026–2027 Interim Assessment Option Survey, which was distributed on April 28, 2026, to district superintendents and principals. The interim assessment requirement, as laid out in North Dakota Century Code § 15.1-21-17.1, provides two paths for public school districts to choose from: using the state-provided option (using the ND A+ Interim Assessments) or selecting an interim assessment(s) from the state-approved list.
Considerations:
- If a district chooses, the selection of interim assessments may be made at the school level rather than at the district level. Districts may create a plan for some schools and grade levels to participate in the ND A+ Interim Assessments while other schools in the district administer interim assessments from the state-approved list. School-specific and grade-level decisions may be noted in the 2026–2027 Interim Assessment Option Survey.
- Districts with schools participating in the ND A+ Interim Assessments will also have access to the ND A+ formative assessment tools, Navvy and WriteUp!.
Public school districts are asked to communicate their intended path for interim assessment administration for the 2026–2027 school year by completing the survey. Please designate one representative per district (or school, if applicable) to complete and submit the survey.
We kindly ask that the 2026–2027 Interim Assessment Option Survey be completed by Friday, May 29, 2026.
Critical Navvy Dates
📅 On May 15, 2026, Navvy will stop syncing roster enrollment data from LaunchPad.
What does this mean for you?
-
Roster updates after May 14, 2026: Any changes in your roster enrollment data in PowerSchool and/or STARS, or any user updates in LaunchPad that occur after May 14, 2026, will not be reflected in Navvy.
-
Exporting full-year data: To retain a complete record of all Navvy Check activity from the 2025–2026 school year, we recommend exporting the All Student Results report with the date range set to include the full school year and the relevant Check Type, Teacher, Class, or School filter selections applied. The All Student Results report will remain available for the 2025-2026 school year until June 30, 2026.

NDDPI and Pearson are seeking North Dakota educators to participate in upcoming virtual Educator Review Meetings. Educators are invited to participate in three upcoming virtual review opportunities to contribute their expertise to the continued development and quality of the ND A+ assessment system.
Educator Review of Non-Summative Grade-Level Blueprints
Participating educators will review ELA and math interim blueprints. The review will focus on kindergarten through grade 2 for ELA and kindergarten through grade 2, grade 9, and grades 11–12 for math. Educators will evaluate the blueprints, which are then used to support alignment determinations, inform test design, and guide item development.
Participation includes:
-
Two-day synchronous, facilitated virtual review on July 20–21, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT
Participants will receive:
- $225 per virtual meeting day
English Language Arts Standards Validation
Educators will review the current ND A+ Summative Assessment ELA cut scores. During this meeting, participants will evaluate current student performance expectations and recommend whether to maintain the existing cut scores or adjust the cut scores for the 2027 administration.
This review follows updates to the ND A+ Summative Assessment in ELA beginning in 2026, including the finalization and implementation of the North Dakota writing rubrics. In addition, Language Usage standalone items have been added to address previously identified standards coverage gaps. Because these updates may affect how student scores are interpreted, NDDPI is conducting a standards validation to determine whether these changes should result in cut score adjustments.
Participation includes:
-
For the committees in grades 3–8, the meetings will be a two-day synchronous, facilitated virtual review during the week of Aug. 10, 2026. The grade 10 committee will meet for one day. All committees will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT.
Participants will receive:
- $225 honorarium per virtual meeting day
Kindergarten, Grade 1, and Grade 2 Educator Item Review
Participating educators will review newly developed ELA and math items for the ND A+ Interim Assessments and provide feedback to ensure the items align with and appropriately measure the North Dakota Content Standards.
Participation includes:
-
One-week asynchronous, independent pre-review of assessment items in ABBI
-
Two-day synchronous, facilitated virtual review during the week of Sept. 14, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. CT
Participants will receive:
-
$225 honorarium for completing the pre-review work
- $225 per virtual meeting day

Educators interested in participating in any of these opportunities are encouraged to contact Kara Welk at (701) 328-1838 for additional information or to express interest.
Did you know...that the upcoming Family Portal will offer exciting new supports for families, including personalized video reports and downloadable, printable Individual Student Reports (ISRs). However, its late-June release presents a challenge, as most North Dakota schools will already be out of session for the academic year.
To address this, West Fargo Public Schools took a proactive and creative approach. With a focus on keeping families informed and engaged, district and school leaders worked collaboratively to develop a plan that ensures timely and meaningful communication.
As part of this effort, the district created a video resource to support families and provide important context around student reports and next steps.
Why the video? Their broader plan includes:
- Sending home the ADAM version of the ISR this spring to provide families with immediate access to student information;
- Waiting until fall to introduce the Family Portal, allowing time to ensure families have the necessary SSIDs for access; and
- Offering an additional informative component in the fall, encouraging families to connect with their student’s teachers to discuss achievement, growth, and proficiency.
The video helps bridge the gap—giving families clarity now while setting the stage for deeper engagement and conversations in the fall.
👏 Special thanks to Dr. Agre and her team for their initiative, creativity, and willingness to share their outstanding efforts. Amazing job!
