North Dakota Scholarship Reminders
The new North Dakota Scholarship requirements go fully into effect starting with the Class of 2025, and students can no longer qualify using the old Academic and CTE Scholarship requirements. Be sure that students and parents know that the requirements are different, and make sure that they also know the differences between the Choice Ready requirements and the North Dakota Scholarship requirements. A separate and more detailed email regarding scholarship procedures was sent to secondary principals and school counselors earlier this week.
If you have questions regarding the North Dakota Scholarship, please contact Jim Upgren at (701) 328-2244.

Free Virtual Training Sessions Available
The North Dakota Center for Distance Education (NDCDE) is the state affiliate for the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC), a national organization that supports digital learning in K-12 education. Through this partnership, NDCDE provides North Dakota educators with resources, best practices, and monthly virtual training sessions on topics like course selection, competency-based education, and military readiness courses. Educators can also access an online portal for networking, peer support, and resource sharing across the state.
On Monday, November 18 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM CT, NDCDE will offer its next DLC State Affiliate session. This training will focus on helping students make well-informed NDCDE course selections and will be facilitated by Andrew Gilbertson, NDCDE dean of students, and Jocelyn Kolle, NDCDE's counselor. Resources and policy guidance on enrolling at NDCDE will also be provided.
To register for this event or join the NDCDE DLC State Affiliate group, please email Hope Stromsodt.
In October, NDCDE trained Learning Coaches on supporting students in digital learning, covering secure distraction-free environment, aiding with coursework and technology, and upholding academic integrity. A recording is available here.
NDCDE looks forward to continuing to support North Dakota educators and their students through this DLC partnership and invites everyone to join these enriching monthly sessions, guidance on test administration, including monitoring students during exams and maintaining password security.
