Choice Ready Opportunity
To help ensure students graduate Choice Ready and for the state to show growth on the Choice Ready metric, the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction (NDDPI) is providing a unique opportunity for high school students in the following three areas for the 2024-2025 school year:

- Online Courses
At the upcoming Choice Ready workshops, we will share additional information and walk participants through the application. The applications will be time-stamped, and we will fund them on a first-come basis until the funding runs out.

Last Chance to Register for PowerSchool New Administrator Training
This training is for new PowerSchool administrators of districts that are currently using PowerSchool. We will start with the minor basics. Participants will learn search methods, student screen navigation, group functions, how to maintain schedules and how to create reports. They will be trained in their live environment.

MIS03 Data Help Days
This training is for districts that have attended a MIS03 Data Cleanup day, been approved by the NDDPI for MIS03 report submission, and would like assistance when verifying teacher data is ready to vertically upload to STARS for the MIS03 teacher report. Time will be spent running the MIS03 Staff Verification Report within PowerSchool and troubleshooting MIS03 validation errors in STARS.

- You must complete a calendar for each school
- Enter the start and end date at the top of the calendar
- Enter your total instructional minutes per day minus lunch
- Enter exception days for any day that deviates from a regular instruction day
- Complete the Notification information

Registration Now Open
This two-day training provides crucial information for everyone involved in the education of English Learners (EL) at the instructional, coordination, and administrative levels.
Day one is geared toward school administrators and EL coordinators by covering EL and Title III regulations and how to set up a quality English learner program. Day two targets classroom/content teachers, EL teachers, EL coordinators, and administrators through discussion of implementation of the WIDA English Language Development Standards Framework, 2020 Edition (as required by ND Century Code) and moving into instructional strategies and resources for use in the classroom.
This year’s EL Crash Course is being provided FREE OF CHARGE by the NDDPI Office of Indian/Multicultural Education, EL Programs Office. Even though there is no charge for the training, registration is required. Registration is open now through August 20 only, so register today to ensure you don’t miss out on this engaging and informative training! On-site registrations will not be accepted.

Update on E-Rate Programs and Fifth Circuit Ruling

This report is due September 9, and it is crucial as it provides updated and accurate personnel information. The NDDPI uses the data to update our listserv. You can email Jill Frohlich now to be added to the listserv as soon as possible to ensure you receive critical information before the report's due date.

Cybersecurity Education Webinars for K-12 Teachers & Students
North Dakota State University and EduTech are offering free webinars this summer on cybersecurity. The instruction will include presentations on cybersecurity concepts and principles and how to apply them to the classroom. Students and teachers will learn concepts and be walked through various lessons/activities. The webinars are 60 minutes long and offered online from 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM CT.

Pets in the Classroom Grant Program
Pets in the Classroom is an educational grant program that provides financial support to teachers to purchase and maintain small animals in the classroom. The program was established by the Pet Care Trust to provide children with an opportunity to interact with pets, an experience that can help to shape their lives for years to come.
