Construction on the Medora Business Loop and City Section is nearing the finish line, with completion expected by mid-June 2026. These improvements will be in place just as Medora prepares to welcome visitors from across the country for the grand opening of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library on July 4, 2026.
Crews kicked off the season with project-wide mill and overlay work, along with landscaping work in the roundabout and medians. Striping, signage, punch list cleaning, grading and seeding will take place once the paving is complete.
-
Pacific Avenue: Milling and paving, with completion expected ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
-
Bridge: Final grooving and treatments to the bridge are underway.
-
Roundabout: Finishing touches are underway, including plantings.
-
Chateau Road: Completion of the remaining segment of the roadway and adjacent sidewalk, with fencing, lighting, striping, minor grading, and landscaping to follow.
Drivers should expect some traffic switches in the area as permanent road markings and signage are installed.
As tourist season picks up, drivers should expect some activity along Pacific Avenue and near the bridge and roundabout. Please slow down and follow all traffic control.
As with all construction, the timeline is subject to weather conditions.
