Construction on Phase 1 of the Memorial Highway project continues between 32nd Avenue SE and 46th Avenue SE.
Work is progressing steadily across the corridor as crews continue to advance from the east and west towards 40th Avenue SE while coordinating paving and underground work.
Here’s what’s happening across the project:
- The next mainline concrete pour will be today (5/1) from 32nd Avenue SE to the east
- Work continues at 46th Avenue SE, including the extended southbound left-turn lane
- Traffic will shift at 46th Avenue SE to allow crews to complete turn lane improvements
- Utility work continues on Action Drive, including watermain installation and connections
- Crews are nearing completion of roadway utility work in several areas, with remaining service work to follow
Traffic changes are ongoing at the 46th Avenue SE intersection as crews complete turn lane improvements and prepare for additional repairs.
This week:
- Westbound Memorial Highway: No left turns onto southbound 46th Avenue SE during turn lane construction.
 Next week:
- Northbound 46th Avenue SE: Right (eastbound) turns only onto Memorial Highway during concrete repair. No left turns onto southbound 46th Avenue SE during concrete repairs.
Work at Action Drive continues as crews move through utility installation.
What to expect:
- Ongoing watermain installation and upcoming storm sewer work
- Temporary traffic shifts between the temporary detour and original roadway
- Continued coordination to maintain business access
Work in the Action Drive area is expected to be in place for approximately three more weeks.
Construction continues on the north side of the Main Street and Memorial Highway/Mandan Avenue intersection and the railroad underpass barrier wall, with work expected to be completed by late June.
This week, crews removed and replaced concrete roadway, curb and gutter, and sidewalk on the northwest side of the Main Street/Mandan Avenue intersection. Work on these improvements will continue into next week.
Along Memorial Highway, the old barrier and pedestrian path beneath the railroad underpass were removed and site preparation is underway for a new barrier wall and path, with installation set to begin next week.
- Westbound Main Street is reduced to one lane at the intersection
- Eastbound Memorial Highway is reduced to one lane and the pedestrian path is closed at the railroad underpass through late June
- All directions remain open and business access is maintained
- Drivers should expect a traffic pattern shift at the Main Street/Mandan Avenue intersection the week of May 11
Traffic patterns will continue to adjust as construction progresses.
