North Dakota is launching a new online training system for qualified service providers (QSPs). The system is called a learning management system (LMS). It is being developed through Direct Care Careers.
The LMS will be the main place where QSPs complete training.
What is an LMS? An LMS is a website where people take training courses. QSPs can:
- Take training online at any time
- Learn at their own pace
- Track completed training
This makes it easier for QSPs to get the training they need, no matter where they live.
Core training for QSPs The LMS will include core training for all QSPs. These courses teach basic job skills.
Topics may include:
- Providing safe care
- Supporting people with respect
- Basic job skills and rules
Why this matters This system will help make training consistent across North Dakota. It will help QSPs feel more prepared and confident.
In turn, people who receive services will get better care and support.

Join the QSP Hub for a live webinar series. Learn how to put knowledge into action. Experts will present on disease and behavior topics.
Sessions are held the third Thursday of each month.
The QSP Hub and Therap recently hosted a kickoff call for family home care (FHC) and family personal care (FPC) providers switching to Therap.
It will be available on the QSP Hub soon. Watch for an email with further details.
FHC and FPC providers are encouraged to obtain a National Provider Identifier (NPI) as the first step in transitioning to Therap.
Providers who want to get a head start on the transition can begin the process by registering for an NPI number. The QSP Hub is available to assist with this process.
Additional resources are available to help providers apply for and manage their NPI number:
