Direct care workers often carry heavy emotional burdens while supporting others.
This workshop will help you to understand different cultures and communicate with care, especially after trauma.
Walk away with skills to:
- Be sensitive to what someone has been through when working with people from different backgrounds in their homes
- Understand how PTSD, racism, and different personality traits affect relationships
- Build trust and reduce tension with clients and their families
- Prioritize your emotional wellness as a caregiver
The workshop is designed for QSPs, direct support professionals, in-home caregivers, behavioral health aids and anyone else who supports clients in home-based settings.
Registration is not required.

The SFN 750 and SFN 749 Documentation of Competency forms were updated on May 2025. QSP enrollment cannot accept any earlier versions of these forms. Please ensure you are using the most current versions. To confirm, check for the date (5-2025) located below the document title:
There will be a reduction in the FCSP quarterly respite cap. The new quarterly cap amount will be $1,225 per quarter per caregiver and the supplemental services quarterly allotment will be reduced to $50 per caregiver per quarter.
These cap reductions are primarily due to fully expending all American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding, which was awarded during the COVID pandemic. Extra funding was made available during the pandemic years, but funding amounts have now gone back to the normal amounts we received in the pre-pandemic years. There has also been an increased demand for these services, which has resulted in increased costs for the FCSP program.
All caregivers who are currently enrolled in the FCSP program will continue to be served with the above quarterly cap amounts.

Span billing refers to submitting claims that cover care provided over several consecutive days on a single claim. This practice is not allowed because it creates unnecessary complications in processing, increases the chance of errors and could lead to delays in payments. Plus, span billing violates Medicaid guidelines and could be flagged for investigation, causing potential disruptions to your payment schedule. It could even jeopardize your QSP status.
Starting July 1, 2025, span billing will no longer be permitted on paper claims and claims entered through the Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) portal.
If a provider span bills, the claims will be denied and the provider will need to resubmit their claims for each day of service provided to the consumer in the correct format.
-
Log in - Use your provider credentials to access the MMIS portal.
-
Check for Payment Notice - After a payment is made, you’ll see a message in the "Messages & Announcements" section on the MMIS home page.
-
Locate the RA - Go to the top menu, click Claims, and select Payment Inquiry. Your remittance advice (PDF) will be available there.
-
Review - Open the PDF to view details on paid or denied claims, payment amounts and any adjustments.
*The department does not issue pay stubs, but instead a document called “remittance advice.” Please be advised that QSPs are not employees of the department; they are self-employed independent contractors. QSPs provide services and are compensated for the authorized services rendered.
