Commerce recently led investment missions to Brazil and Louisiana, with the delegation including Commerce Commissioner Josh Teigen, Deputy Commissioner Shawn Kessel, Charlie Gorecki of the EERC, Mark Askelson of UND, and Aaron Reinholz of NDSU. Focused on Energy, Agriculture, and Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS), the delegation conducted meetings in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo, aiming to encourage investment into North Dakota. Commissioner Teigen presented North Dakota’s economic opportunities at various forums, including the Cubo innovation hub. The positive reception during the visit suggests significant returns on investment in the coming weeks and months. Teigen also visited the CGB Enterprises, Inc. (CGB) facility in Louisiana, which plays a crucial role in agricultural commerce and global supply chains.
The Commerce team joined the WM Phoenix Open as a sponsor, seizing the opportunity to showcase the state's tourism offerings at "The People's Open." Engaging fans through activations in four hospitality tents, the Legendary presence highlighted North Dakota's golf courses and outdoor adventures. In collaboration with actor and North Dakota native Josh Duhamel, Commerce unveiled a new video featuring the state's top-rated golf courses. The North Dakota activations will also be supported by business and community leaders from throughout the state that will be instrumental in bringing to life personal insights for tourism, talent recruitment and workforce development. The synergies in marketing tourism and workforce development are highlighted as part of North Dakota's Find the Good Life initiative designed to match potential residents with careers and communities.
